Some users on social media pointed out the massive hypocrisy of requiring people to have a photo ID, especially, just to be seen in public in the people's capital, but requiring one to vote is somehow a racist endeavor.Remember that starting Saturday you will need these three things before heading out:
1. Proof of Vaccination (12 years +) 2. Proof of Vaccination and Photo ID (18 years +) 3. Mask For more information visit https://t.co/1guYaUWd08. pic.twitter.com/0s6Aspnu2x — Mayor Muriel Bowser (@MayorBowser) January 11, 2022
So if requiring a photo ID to cast a ballot is voter suppression, then what does that make this?

Since you're okay with showing a photo ID to get into a restaurant, you support IDs for voting, right?

Wait. Requiring ID is racist

You'll need an ID to go inside a McDonald's in DC, but not to vote...

Before "heading out" where??
I don't have an ID. It was stolen & I can't afford another thanks to SSDI's starvation wages & I CAN'T get vaccinated with my medical condition That mean I can't go to the store to get food?? ...Starvation wages means I can't have things delivered — Amanda Siebe | ♿ #DisabilityRightsAreHumanRight ♿️ (@SiebeforORD1) January 11, 2022
Are you making it a requirement to have ID with you at all times just to walk around the city?
I sure hope not. Occasionally I'm asked for ID and my vaccine card, when dining out in San Francisco, (because of the Vaccination Card fakes) but I leave it at home, unless I need it. — Shawn Sunshine Strickland (@Strickalator) January 12, 2022
we have a trip coming up to DC and you sure are making it less appealing. This is just stupid, given that the vaccine seems not to offer significant protection against catching omicron.

I feel terrible for the underserved communities you constantly talk about not being able to obtain an ID to vote. Now there are so many other facets of life they will not be able to enjoy.

ID to vote: racist throwback to Jim Crow
ID, mask and proof of vaxx to go anywhere: perfectly fine When this does absolutely nothing to slow the spread of COVID, will you admit that and never do it again? — Spike Cohen (@RealSpikeCohen) January 12, 2022
The utter lack of self-awareness over a photo ID mandate to venture out in DC -- but not to vote -- is astonishing. But what is even more telling is that Democrats instinctively turn authoritarian when it comes to the exercise of power. Meanwhile, most Republican leaders remain true to the root concept of their party's name -- 'republic' -- by continuing to respect Americans' constitutional and civil rights, regardless of whether or not there is a pandemic. The contrast between the two political parties' COVID responses could not be starker. Sources include: CitizenFreePress.com NaturalNews.comI thought that needing ID was racist? Or is that just for election season?
