Biden's America: Mass shoplifting now so bad that retail chains are having to close locations because they're losing so much money

When demonstrations following the death of George Floyd turned to criminal looting and rioting, then-President Donald Trump stepped up and vowed to do whatever it took to bring back law and order. As president, he could only do so much, like order federal monuments and buildings reinforced and protected, and he did that. But also as president, he had a massive bully pulpit to bring awareness to the criminality, and that, in turn, led Americans living in besieged communities to demand action from their local leaders. As the nominal 'president,' Joe Biden has the same bully pulpit to implore local and regional district attorneys bought and paid for by that Marxist destroyer of societies, George Soros, to do the jobs they were elected to do: Enforce all laws without prejudice and bias instead of taking a "woke" soft-on-crime approach that only enables more criminal activity. But he won't, of course, because his left-wing handlers won't 'instruct' him to do so, and because of that, crime is spiking in jurisdictions where Soros DAs and prosecutors are in charge -- so much so, in fact, that retailers are being forced to close locations because they are essentially being legally looted. "Shoplifting has gotten so bad nationally that chains like Rite Aid are closing hard-hit stores, sending terrified employees home in Ubers and locking up aisles of seemingly mundane items like deodorant and toothpaste," Axios reported this week. Already, retailers were reeling economically thanks to nearly a year's worth of lockdowns and mandatory business closures to 'slow the spread' of COVID-19, a lunatic strategy that had zero effect on reducing viral infections. In addition, retailers have also been suffering supply chain problems (thanks, again, to perpetual lockdowns) and shortages of workers. Now they have to deal with organized gangs of thieves, most of which are becoming increasingly violent and brazen. "It's out of control — it is just out of control," Lisa LaBruno, SVP of operations and innovation at the Retail Industry Leaders Association, told Axios. "We have experienced a 300% increase in retail theft from our stores since the pandemic began," CVS spokesman Michael DeAngelis told the outlet. A RiteAid in midtown Manhattan was forced to close down after having some $200,000 worth of goods stolen from the location in January alone, the New York Post reports. “They come in every day, sometimes twice a day, with laundry bags and just load up on stuff,” one store employee told The Post, as two others nodded their heads in agreement. “They take whatever they want and we can’t do anything about it. It’s why the store is closing. They can’t afford to keep it open," the store employee added. Often, goods that are stolen are then resold online and while that alone indicates racketeering and should warrant federal law enforcement intervention, Biden is nowhere to be found speaking out about the problem, nor is Attorney General Merrick Garland, the latter of whom is too busy going after parents who protest curriculum at school board meetings. “A decision to close a store is one we take very seriously, and those decisions are based on a variety of factors that retail businesses consider such as overarching business strategy, lease and rent considerations, local business conditions and viability, and store performance," a RiteAid spokesperson told The Post, not having the guts to blame the closures on bands of thugs enabled by left-wing soft-on-crime Soros prosecutors -- including Manhattan DA Alvin Briggs. But there are some efforts to get things back under control. "The retail industry is pressing Congress to pass the INFORM Act, which would require online marketplaces (like Amazon, eBay and Facebook) to verify sellers and provide contact information to buyers," Axios reported. In reality, though, nothing is going to change. This is all by design. The left is destroying our society one major city at a time. Collapse is imminent; if you live in one of those cities, you need to get out. Sources include: Axios.com NYPost.com NaturalNews.com
