Dr. Mark Sherwood: Running for office is about leadership, not politics – Brighteon.TV
Dr. Mark Sherwood, a certified naturopathic doctor and a retired 24-year veteran of the Tulsa Police Department, believes that
running for office is about leadership, not politics.
In the April 26 episode of "The Sheriff Mack Show," Sherwood shared his "Oklahoma first" policies to secure a self-sustaining state. He also said he is ready to rid the state of oppression and a bloated federal government, emphasizing that Oklahoma needs a leader who is willing to face controversy head-on.
Sherwood declared candidacy for the Republican primary scheduled on June 28. He is running for governor.
According to Sherwood, there is a lot of commonality in the idea of protection, service and standing up for those who can't stand for themselves.
"A lot of people today, they're bullied, picked on, misunderstood or underrepresented. And I just want to step up into the gap and say, 'No, we're not going to do that anymore,'" he said. "So that's the whole idea. It just kind of keeps me driving each day."
Separation of state government and federal government
Sam Bushman, who was co-hosting with Sheriff Mack on the episode, pointed out that state legislatures are not subject to federal direction. A judge previously said the Supreme Court always siding with the federal government's authority over the states is absolutely wrong.
Sherwood believes that removing the federal government from getting a say in the way states run themselves could have a catalyst effect on the United States. (Related:

He related that one issue they face in Oklahoma is similar to what other "red states" face: They don't understand the Constitution and they have no leadership. What their so-called leaders do have is the mentality that they must coexist with the federal government.
"And it's an elitist, it's a monarchist, it's a power-hungry, influence-craving, money-loving group and they just have lost complete sight of what their job is and what they're supposed to do and who they're supposed to represent. What is happening is that in these predominantly red states, they have the opportunity, but they have been
compromised because of the Democrats that are seated with them, who don't live up to what they say they're gonna do," Sherwood said.
"Generally, if you say, you're going to do this and don't do it, you know that's called a lie. And we need to call them for what they are, liars. And the chance we have to vote out liars is the best way to turn – limit anybody, vote them out, let your voice be heard. And when you do, we're going to get our country back."
He also said the concept of the Deep State is real. However, it is a garbage establishment that is corrupt and manipulative. "And there are people out there that absolutely have no spine whatsoever and will not make a decision, because they're afraid of losing voters, losing money, losing influence."
The 2022 midterm elections will be
Sherwood's first run for public office. Some of his promises include keeping election integrity, abolishing abortion, stopping the infringement of the Second Amendment, stopping critical race theory from being taught in schools, banning mandatory vaccines, masks or lockdowns and the deregulation of business and agriculture as issues of focus. In his campaign announcement in September last year, Sherwood said he believes the 2020 elections were "hijacked" and that Oklahomans should demand a forensic audit.
Sherwood has also
previously criticized Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt for closing "nonessential" businesses at the start of the pandemic. He also said that despite signing a near-total abortion ban into law, Stitt has not gone far enough to abolish abortion.
Sherwood also discussed securing the U.S. borders, saying that he does not want illegal immigrants crossing the Red River: "We need to assist our neighbors to the south to secure the southern border. We need to secure the border above us, in the air," he said.
