GOP lawmakers sound alarm on 'media cartel' bill that will allow big tech, big media to collude on more censorship

Left-wing Democrats have known for decades that they cannot win debates over policy issues so they have to resort to rigging the system -- cheating, in other words -- in order to obtain power. That's really what the 2020 election was all about: Democrats knew there was no candidate they put forth who could have been as wildly popular as President Donald Trump so they ran two of the most vacuous candidates they could find -- Joe Biden and Kamala Harris -- because they knew they were going to steal the outcome and then control the two figureheads in the Oval Office. But the rigging of outcomes is an ongoing Democrat strategy, as evidenced by a piece of legislation the party is championing along with, unfortunately, far too many RINOs. It's not enough that the 'mainstream' media is already blatantly biased or that the major social media platforms are as well. Now, Democrats are pushing legislation that would allow both industries to collude on censoring even more conservative points of view than they do already, but at least some Republicans are pushing back and trying to get the word out about what the bill actually does. One of them is Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee. She has condemned the Journalism Competition and Preservation Act (JCPA) for a second time after one of its primary authors, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), 'amended' it in a manner that only exacerbates the worst parts of the original version, Breitbart News reports, adding: In a post on Twitter, the Tennessee Senator said the push by media lobbyists and Democrats to pass the JCPA — which has been revived repeatedly over the past two years — fell in line with recent attempts to discredit, demonize, and censor conservatives. "Biden said that Trump supporters are extremists. Then more evidence exposed the WH worked with Facebook to censor conservatives. We can't allow the Dems to pass the Journalism Competition and Protection Act, which allows the liberal media and Big Tech to silence conservatives," she wrote. Breitbart News noted: "Blackburn’s comments come after the recent publication of an amended version of the JCPA, which would allow the media cartel it creates to write its own criteria to exclude independent and conservative news outlets." The outlet reported previously: That provision is significant especially for its specificity. These mainstream and left-wing media cartels may not exclude based on size or “views expressed by its content.” But that is not how the exclusion happens or will happen. These self-appointed mainstream and left-wing media cartels ARE allowed to exclude based on the usual, totally subjective, factors they always do, such as: “trustworthiness,” “fake news, “extremism,” “misinformation,” “hate speech,” “conspiracy,” “correction policy,” “expertise,” “authoritativeness,” etc. Mind you, these terms are supposed to be viewpoint neutral but they are interpreted by the deep state 'media watchdog' groups like NewsGuard to target just one side of the political spectrum, and it's not the side Democrats are on. Every now and then there will be a token admonition of 'mainstream' outlet but those are rare, Breitbart noted. Blackburn has been sounding the alarm on this monstrosity of a bill for months now. “The Journalism Competition and Preservation Act will give even more power to the mainstream media and Silicon Valley,” Blackburn told Breitbart News last year. “We need to protect our small newspapers and ensure they are compensated for their content. This will allow big tech to further consolidate power and make it even easier to censor conservative voices on social media," she said. Of course, it will.
