White House press secretary ripped for claiming it'll take days to count ballots so many winners won't be immediately known

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was blasted online for warning reporters on Monday that it will take "days" for some jurisdictions to count their ballots, leading several to sound the alarm again over Democrat-led vote fraud. Her warning comes amid polling that shows Republicans are well-positioned to claw back control of Congress, and by substantial margins, at least in the House. “We may not know all the winners of elections for a few days. It takes time to count all legitimate ballots in a legal and orderly manner,” Jean-Pierre told reporters at Monday's White House press briefing. “That’s how this is supposed to work.” Actually, that's not how it's supposed to work. Before the advent of Democrat-imposed, widespread mail-in voting, Americans had one day to cast their ballots, and all races were counted and declared within hours after polls closed. Several social media users took to various platforms to make that and other arguments. "Pennsylvania just announced that it could take days to determine the winner. This is outrageous!" former President Donald Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “Counting ballots after Election Day undermines voter confidence,” added Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton. Hudson Institute senior fellow Rebeccah Heinrichs quipped, “Narrator: this is not, in fact, how it’s supposed to work.” Meanwhile, conservative commentator Rick DeVos slammed Jean-Pierre’s statement with a “Star Wars” reference: “This stuff is rapidly becoming like a 10 year old trying to use the ‘Jedi Mind Trick’ after seeing it in the movie. ‘That’s how this is supposed to work.’ ‘That’s HOW this is supposed to work.’ ‘That’s how this is SUPPOSED to work,’” he quipped. “Dad chuckles, smiles, pats kid on head.” The host of “The Situation with Michael Brown,” former Under Secretary of Homeland Security Michael D. Brown, was among several people who pointed out that as technology has improved, for some reason, vote-counting has taken longer -- while also ripping Jean-Pierre. “Not only is she just flat stupid, but think about this. When we counted paper ballots, or punched ballots (sans FL 2000) we knew the results almost always by midnight. Not two weeks. This insanity has to stop,” he said. Commentator Andy Swan noted similarly: “It’s amazing that they were able to count all the ballots by hand on election night in the 1960s but can’t get it done with scantrons and computer inputs in 2022.” Townhall contributor Brad Slager added: “I recall when they were able to call elections within hours of polls closing. Now ahead of time, as technology has improved, they just KNOW there will be days of counting needed to ascertain the results.” Interestingly, the criticism of American elections also emanated from international circles. Canadian athlete Jeff Hecht asked, “At what point in North American election history did it begin taking ‘a few days’ to calculate votes and distinguish winners?” And Rob Roos, a Dutch politician and member of the European Parliament, riffed, “In 1969, mankind took the first steps on the moon.
