NYC Mayor Adams blasts Biden admin for burdening Big Apple with ILLEGALS

New York City (NYC) Mayor Eric Adams criticized the Biden administration for its inaction toward illegal immigration, which has strained the Big Apple's housing and employment. During a Jan. 15 visit to the border city of El Paso in Texas, Adams remarked that President Joe Biden has failed to enact immigration policy reform at the southern border. He declared that there is "no more room" in NYC for illegal aliens. According to the mayor, migrants are being given a "false impression" though internet advertisements about what to expect in the city. The ads claim that migrants will be given automatic employment opportunities and will be housed in high-end hotels. This is far from the truth, as the Big Apple only provides sheltered housing units – which are already running out. There's a conversation among those who are asylum seekers and migrants who are given the false impression that if you come to NYC, everything is fine. "We have to give people accurate information," Adams said. "That is what some of the centers are doing here. They are truly explaining to people that this is what is happening in [NYC] right now. In [NYC], you go there, you're going to be living in congregate settings, and there is no more room. That should be coordinated by our national government." He also called for a "coordinated response" to the crisis within cities seeing an increase in the arrival of illegal aliens. According to Adams, the Federal Emergency Management Agency should be lending a hand in the matter. "This is a national emergency and crisis that must be addressed," said the NYC mayor. NYC, other cities being "undermined" with illegals

Busloads of illegal aliens have been shipped to "sanctuary cities" with Democratic mayors such as NYC, Washington, D.C. and Chicago. The busing efforts were spearheaded by Republican governors such as Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. In response, several Democrat mayors, such as Chicago's Lori Lightfoot and Washington, D.C.'s Muriel Bowser, have complained about the influx of migrants in their cities. Adams himself lamented the influx of illegals in the Big Apple. "Our cities are being undermined. Migrants don't deserve this, and the people who live in the cities don't deserve this," Adams said. "We are now seeing more people arrive than we have ever seen – averaging over 400 people each day this last week, with 835 asylum seekers arriving on one single day alone, the largest single-day arrival we've seen to date. All this is pushing NYC to the brink." Adams previously stated that the influx could cost the city as much as $2 billion. Currently, NYC is already housing around 26,000 illegal aliens. The number of illegal immigrants crossing the border has surged during Biden's first two years of presidency, with border patrol agents making more than 2.2 million arrests at the U.S.-Mexico border in the 2022 fiscal year that ended in September.
