Biden admin earmarks $1.5B for 5G rollout despite public pushback and newfound health risks

The Biden administration has earmarked $1.5 billion to roll out 5G networks, despite public opposition and health risks caused by the frequency. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo formally launched on April 12 the Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund, part of the Biden administration's "Investing in America" agenda. The endeavor will invest $1.5 billion in the development of open and interoperable networks. It will also help ensure that the future of 5G and next-gen wireless technology is built by the U.S. and its global allies and partners, and not by vendors from nations that "threaten the national security." "The innovation fund is a critical step toward securing 5G wireless networks while driving innovation at home and abroad," Raimondo said in a press release. "Investing in the next generation of innovation will unlock opportunities for new and emerging companies to compete in the global telecom market, strengthen our telecom supply chains and provide our allies and friends with trusted choices and innovative technologies to compete in the 21st century." But Dr. Lennart Hardell of the Environment and Cancer Research Foundation begged to differ. The oncologist called for a stop to the deployment of 5G and the dismantling of 5G towers. Hardell recalled how people were actually mad and interested to learn more when he was publishing the world's first case reports on the health effects of Agent Orange – a stark contrast with the reactions to 5G today. "The media was on their toes and really reported about these things, which led to more studies," he said. "[But with 5G], there is complete darkness and silence in the media about this problem. The governments ignore this completely, and there is no political or media pressure … to do anything about this." Mona Nilsson, managing director of the Swedish Radiation Protection Foundation, remarked that exposing the public to 5G radiation without an established track record of safety is "madness." She also noted that the drive to immediately roll out 5G is driven by the telecommunication industry's desire for profits instead of public demand.

5G causes severe problems on a healthy woman

Hardell and Nilsson penned a case study about a 52-year-old woman from Sweden published April 10 in the Annals of Clinical and Medical Case Reports. The said woman developed symptoms of "microwave syndrome" after a 5G cell tower was installed 60 meters (196.8 feet) from her apartment. These symptoms – including unbearable pain, headache, dizziness, loss of immediate memory, confusion, fatigue, anxiety, nose bleeds and more – appeared after the 5G tower was built. The woman relocated to another place with no 5G towers nearby, and the symptoms immediately disappeared. However, the symptoms returned when she moved back into her apartment. Hardell and Nilsson also measured "extremely high" microwave radiation levels outside and inside the woman's apartment. At the balcony, they measured 2.5 million microwatts per square meter (µW/m²) as the peak value. While inside, they measured a peak value of 758,000 µW/m² – with sharp variations or pulses over one minute. Nilsson remarked that the alarming results confirm the concerns raised by hundreds of scientists that 5G would lead to an increase in exposure to microwave radiation. The latter, she added, "has already been proven harmful at levels lower than governmental limits." Apart from the high radiation levels, the highly repetitive nature of the pulsating 5G signal can also harm people's health.
