DISCRIMINATION at WORK: Toronto mom loses job after arguing against posting pride stickers at school board meeting
In an exclusive interview with alternative news outlet
LifeSiteNews, a mom revealed how he was a victim of discrimination, cancel culture and unjust treatment at work just because she addressed a Catholic school board to
defend children from the LGBT ideology as per her religious beliefs.
Sheree Di Vittorio was left baffled when she was dismissed from AutoTrader the day after the media portal
Canadian Broadcasting Cooperation (CBC) published an article criticizing her when she only aired her sentiment and
argued against posting "pride stickers" in schools. The said March 5 article even slammed her for being "angry" and for "disrupting" the February York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB) meeting.
"There is absolutely no need to have such an aggressive campaign all around schools exposing younger children like my nine-year-old to sexual ideologies and indoctrination that she is far too young to understand," the Coptic Orthodox Christian mother expressed in the virtual gathering.
"To engage in homosexuality is to engage in an immoral practice that is contrary to the doctrines of our faith," she added with emphasis that the school is a Catholic elementary education institution and unlike public schools that receive subsidies from the government. "It is most certainly not appropriate to engage kids to be open to these ideologies. There are biblical reasons why homosexuality is considered a sin," she said,
The mom of a nine-year-old student from the said Catholic school told
LifeSiteNews that she was terminated from her job despite "the fact that my manager had met with me on two separate occasions and told me that I was thriving within the position." She felt like being pushed into a corner as there was not even a chance to explain her side of things. "I wasn't given a voice whatsoever," Di Vittorio lamented. "They left me in a really tough position. I'm struggling financially because of this. I didn't qualify for employment insurance.
She was not even able to seek legal assistance as she can't afford to hire a lawyer to represent her in any of these cases where she was "basically been mistreated and unjustly treated just for expressing my religious views."
Meanwhile,
LifeSiteNews videographer and journalist Myles Vosylius documented in a short video the actual conversation he had with Auto Trader Chief People and Culture Officer Beth Worthington . She was the one who signed Di Vittorio's dismissal letter.
In the video, Worthington ended the call abruptly after insisting that it was not her job, though she was the one who fired Di Vittorio, to talk to the press regarding employees (active or not) maintaining that this information is confidential. She kept saying for Vosylius to just contact their media relations office representative Ian MacDonald and assured him he will have answers to all his questions. MacDonald, who is the chief marketing officer, however, likewise refused to answer his questions.
"Thank you for reaching out to us. However, we cannot comment publicly on matters relating to employees, past and present. King [sic] Regards, Media Inquiries team, AutoTrader.ca," the reply to Vosylius' inquiry indicated.
"Groomer" YCDSB supports teachers who display "safe space" pride stickers
According to the school board, they were no aware that there are stickers, but still, they are commending teachers in choosing to display or not these stickers in their classrooms, based on their personal beliefs.
Paulo de Buono, whose child was in a YCDSB school until last year, is also a teacher with the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB). He said the "safe space" signage is an important tool for teachers to help students feel safe. "For a group of students who have been marginalized too long, and so, so much in the Ontario Catholic system, they need to know that we're making an effort to have
safe spaces for them," the LGBT ideology supporter said.
He also claimed that TCDSB is a public school board despite bearing the word 'Catholic' in it. "It includes certain privileges, but it does not include the right to treat students so wrongly," he claimed. (Related:
