DHS rewards ex-intel officials who dismissed Hunter Biden's laptop from hell as "Russian disinfo"

Former intelligence officials who dismissed an expose of Hunter Biden's laptop from hell as "Russian disinformation" have been given plum positions in the federal government. In a Sept. 19 press release, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced the creation of the Homeland Intelligence Experts Group (IEG). The 17-member IEG will "provide advice and perspectives on intelligence and national security efforts" to the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Office of Intelligence and Analysis and Office of Counterterrorism Coordinator. Mayorkas thanked the "distinguished individuals" on the IEG, adding: "The security of the American people depends on our capacity to collect, generate, and disseminate actionable intelligence to our federal, state, local, territorial, tribal, campus, and private sector partners." But the New York Post was once again quick to notice the "hidden agenda" in the IEG's creation, zooming in on the inclusion of three former intel officials. "It just made wise picks in three expert ex-intel gaslighters: John Brennan, James Clapper and Paul Kolbe," the outlet said. Brennan served as former director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) from 2013 to 2017, while Kolbe served as the CIA's former operations officer. Meanwhile, Clapper became the national security analyst of the fake news network following his stint as director of national intelligence from 201o to 2017. All three were named as members in the DHS advisory group. Incidentally, the three were among the 51 signatories of an October 2020 letter denouncing the Post's report on Hunter Biden's laptop from hell. The letter, which was penned a month before the November 2020 elections, sought to fend off critical discussion on the presidential son's salacious device. "Perhaps most important, each of us believes deeply that American citizens should determine the outcome of elections, not foreign governments," the letter stated, insinuating Russian interference through the laptop's story. "All of us agree with the founding fathers' concern about the damage that foreign interference in our politics can do to our democracy. The letter also blasted emails from the presidential son over his tenure at the Ukrainian gas company Burisma as having all the classic earmarks of a Russian disinfo operation. "If we are right, this is Russia trying to influence how Americans vote in this election, and we believe strongly that Americans need to be aware of this," it continued. Incidentally, Trump-despising former CIA Director Michael Hayden – another signatory – was hired as an advisor at a left-leaning anti-"misinformation" group. Johnson: U.S. gov't shouldn't hire, pay the 51 liars denouncing laptop story

For Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), the 51 signatories of the laptop letter shouldn't be employed by the federal government ever again. "They keep getting rewarded. It's as though they're getting rewarded for what we now know to be bad behavior in 2020," he said during an appearance on Just The News' "Not Noise" TV show. "First of all, every last one of those individuals should lose their security clearance. None of them should ever be hired, work for, or [get] paid by the U.S. government," the senator said. "What this indicates is literally how deep and corrupt the Deep State truly is." "They are so brazen ... and they have no shame. The Bidens – they have no shame. Hunter is suing the [Internal Revenue Service]. I wouldn't be doing that if I'm facing tax evasion charges, but that's how brazen all these people are." According to Johnson, the Biden administration doesn't care what the American people think because they "believe that they are the law and above the law." He continued: "They are quite confident the mainstream media will never hold them accountable, so they continue in these corrupt actions, and they reward corrupt actions by their buddies." In March, the Post asked the 51 former intelligence officials if they regretted signing the letter. While most didn't respond, some of those who commented stood by the letter, and none of them expressed regret for signing it.
