Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned that a "greater disaster" is coming for Israel if it continues to bomb civilians in the Gaza Strip. The ayatollah made this declaration on Oct. 10 in Tehran as he spoke at a joint graduation ceremony for cadets studying in the academies of the Islamic Republic of Iran Armed Forces. During his speech, he also called Hamas' initial surprise attack an "irreparable defeat" for Israel and noted that Israeli oppression of Palestinians is the root cause of this conflict. According to Iran’s Tasnim news agency, Khamenei said that the Hamas attacks were the result of "the continuous brutality and ferocity of the fake usurper regime against the Palestinian nation." Khamenei further warned that Israel will not be able to hide its part "in the attack on Gaza and the massacre of Gazans through the act of lying or by playing the victim." "By speaking nonsense, it cannot attribute the bravery of the Palestinian youth and their intelligent plans to non-Palestinians," said Khamenei, who added that, in terms of military response and intelligence gathering, Israel has been defeated in an "irreparable" way. He added that it is unlikely that Israel can use the help it receives from the West to "repair the deep impacts that this incident has left on its ruling structures." (Related: Western world leaders condemn acts of TERRORISM committed by Hamas, support Israel’s right to DEFEND ITSELF.)

Khamenei praises Hamas as "holy warriors"

Khamenei's speech also lauded the Hamas militants as "mujahideen," or holy warriors who fought against the "brutal measures" taken by Israel against the "oppressed Palestinian nation." He lambasted the Israeli government as the most "shameless and cruel enemy" of Muslims and downplayed criticism of Hamas' murder of civilians, claiming that their "innocence" was a lie formed by the "Global Arrogance" and its media apparatus. "The rulers and decision-makers of the Zionist regime and their supporters should know that these actions will bring a greater disaster upon them, and the Palestinian people, with a firmer determination, will slap their hideous faces harder in response to these crimes," said Khamenei. In what seems like cautiousness that his own regime might not be able to escape without consequences, Khamenei added that while Tehran approves of the attacks on Israel, it had no role in planning or executing them. Khamenei insisted that allegations of Iranian involvement were "nonsense." He warned the Iranian cadets that all Muslims must be ready to take up arms and fight alongside the Palestinians, even comparing their struggle to Iran’s long and brutal war against Saddam Hussein’s Iraq in the 1980s. Khamenei said that in the 80s, Iran's armed forces defended the country and the sovereignty of Islam, at the same time thwarting "the collective conspiracy of the arrogant of the East and the West in defending the aggressor Saddam." He then accused the U.S. and its allies of creating the Islamic State, which he called "Daesh," in what he insists is a "wicked plot to disrupt the stability of the region." Khamenei also posted on Twitter that the "heads of the Zionist regime and their backers should know that the massacre and mass murder of the people of Gaza will cause a larger calamity to come upon them." But Israelis replied to his post, saying that his regime is also on their minds as they will take action to neutralize "Hamas and its sponsors." The State of Israel’s official X account responded to Khamenei, chastising him because it's "easy to be brave when you’re hiding behind a keyboard." "You and your Hamas friends will regret your barbaric actions very soon," concluded the post on Israel's X account. Visit WWIII.news for more updates on the war between Israel and Hamas.
