Ultra-woke Alameda County DA falls victim to crimes she refused to prosecute, with SMASHED car window and STOLEN laptop

Pamela Price, the district attorney (DA) for California's Alameda County, has fallen victim to the same crimes she refuses to take seriously. The soft-on-crime DA backed by Hungarian globalist billionaire George Soros was targeted in an Oct. 27 burglary. According to the Oakland Police Department (OPD), her work laptop was stolen from her vehicle parked outside the Alameda County Family Justice Center in the city of Oakland. Price's bodyguard parked her $90,000 SUV outside the justice center while she attended an event related to domestic violence. But upon returning to the vehicle, she found that the windows had been broken and various items, including her work laptop, were missing. Price was reportedly advised to file an online report if she preferred not to wait for law enforcement officers to respond. After an hour of waiting at the scene with no assistance, Price decided to report the incident online, an OPD insider told ABC7 News. The increase in vehicle break-ins in Oakland has led many downtown car owners to leave their windows rolled down to signal that there are no valuables inside, as a strategy to deter potential thieves. According to Market Watch, Oakland holds the unfortunate distinction of leading the nation in auto thefts – with 5,041 vehicles stolen in 2019 alone. Back in 2018, Price accepted a $130,000 donation from Soros in her failed attempt to become DA that year. She promised to offer so-called "justice transformation" and disrupt traditional prosecutorial practices in Alameda County. Price was later elected as DA in November 2022, garnering 53 percent of votes. During her tenure, Price has implemented a range of progressive policies – making her the subject of repeated accusations regarding her stance on criminal justice matters. These include advocating for a more balanced approach to sentencing, a reduction in recidivism, and an emphasis on probation over incarceration in most serious felony cases. She also discouraged enhancements that could lead to longer jail sentences for convicted offenders.

DA Price's soft-on-crime policies came back to bite her

However, her soft-on-crime approach has faced criticism from some long-standing members of the Alameda County District Attorney's Office (ACDAO). This would come back to bite her through the Oct. 27 theft of her work laptop. Incidentally, the theft she experienced followed a similar instance experienced by New Orleans DA Jason Williams – who was carjacked at gunpoint alongside his elderly mother earlier in October. Danielle Hilton, an prosecutor with nearly three decades of service in the ACDAO, expressed her dissatisfaction in a strongly-worded resignation letter in April. Hilton accused Price of neglecting the rights of crime victims and called for a more victim-centered approach. In less than a month, another experienced prosecutor, Rebecca Warren, stepped down, describing Price as "condescending and disrespectful" toward the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community in her resignation letter. Warren, of Chinese descent, quit her position as deputy district attorney after Price declined to commit to sentencing enhancements in a case involving the killing of two-year-old Jasper Wu, which could have made the suspects eligible for life sentences without parole. A community meeting in July, which Price attended, provided a platform for frustrated speakers to voice their concerns about a surge in crime in areas that were previously considered stable. The crimes ranged from car thefts and home invasions to armed robberies and carjackings. After this meeting, a community group named Save Alameda County for Everyone (SAFE) launched an effort to remove Price from her position, arguing that crime has spiraled out of control under her leadership. They acknowledged the challenging and arduous process of recalling a public official but emphasized their resolve to do so, citing concerns about their safety and that of their families as their motivation.
