Dec 20 (Reuters) – Donald Trump was disqualified from Colorado’s presidential primary ballot by the state’s Supreme Court on Tuesday, an extraordinary ruling that could be struck down ahead of the November 2024 US election. Here is a look at the decision and what it means for the former U.S. president and frontrunner for the 2024 Republican nomination. WHAT DOES THE RULING SAY? A slim majority of the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that Trump is disqualified from appearing on the state’s ballot under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which bars anyone engaged in “insurrection or rebellion” from holding federal office. A lower court judge previously ruled that Trump’s actions on Jan. 6, 2021, during a violent attack on the U.S. Capitol by his supporters amounted to insurrection but stopped short of disqualifying him, saying Section 3 does not apply to presidents. The Colorado Supreme Court paused its own ruling pending review by the U.S. Supreme Court, which Trump said he will immediately seek.In case you’re wondering who was behind this disgusting anti-American move, here you go:
Independent candidate RFK Jr. had this to say about Colorado’s un-American move:???? ???? ?????
This is the Colorado Supreme Court… Justice Rich Gabriel (D) Justice Melissa Hart (D) Justice Monica Márquez (D) and Justice William Hood (D) are in the squares and voted yes to remove President Trump from ballot.#Trump2024 pic.twitter.com/Z1LSUw49GY — ZZZ (@AskMeLaterOn) December 20, 2023
Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has pledged not to participate in the Colorado primary if this decision remains in effect. He’s also calling on the other candidates, whom he refers to as ‘wannabes,’ to follow suit. Vivek:I’m not a Trump supporter (if I were, I wouldn’t be running against him!) But I want to beat him in a fair election, not because he was kicked off the ballot. Let the voters choose, not the courts! #Kennedy24

I pledge to withdraw from the Colorado GOP primary ballot until Trump is also allowed to be on the ballot, and I demand that Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie, and Nikki Haley do the same immediately – or else they are tacitly endorsing this illegal maneuver which will have disastrous consequences for our country.
Many were disappointed that Ron DeSantis released a weak statement that didn’t even use President Trump’s name. The good news is that the GOP in Colorado is not sitting back either; they’re fighting. The party has come up with a plan to keep President Trump on the ballot if this Marxist decision is allowed to stand. The strategy involves transforming the entire process into a “caucus.”I pledge to withdraw from the Colorado GOP primary ballot until Trump is also allowed to be on the ballot, and I demand that Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie, and Nikki Haley do the same immediately - or else they are tacitly endorsing this illegal maneuver which will have disastrous… pic.twitter.com/qbpNf9L3ln

Brilliant strategy, but let’s hope it doesn’t come to that, because this draconian decision should be immediately overturned. Right after the decision came down, the Colorado GOP put the gloves on, ready to fight. Here’s what the chairman had to say to Laura Loomer:You won't have to because we will withdraw from the Primary as a Party and convert to a pure caucus system if this is allowed to stand.

Professor Turley states that he has never witnessed anything as blatantly undemocratic as this in his entire life. That’s a remarkably striking statement coming from a man who is a highly respected constitutional professor.WATCH: Following the news last night that the Colorado Supreme Court has disqualified President Trump from being on the GOP primary ballot, Dave Williams @RepDaveWilliams, the chairman of the Colorado GOP @cologop came on my show to react.

Dilbert comic creator Scott Adams said it best:TURLEY: “This country is a powder keg and this court is just throwing matches at it.. for people that say they are trying to protect democracy, this is hands down the most anti-democratic opinion I’ve seen in my lifetime.” pic.twitter.com/g9bz6JWmbb

Scott is spot on. This move just goes to show that progressives will stop at nothing—even going so far as to remove valid candidates from the ballot—in an attempt to keep President Trump out of the White House. Now, just take a moment to consider what they might have done in 2020, when they had the so-called “pandemic” and a tsunami of sketchy mail-in ballots to bolster their efforts. Scary, right? The decision will be reversed. Trump's poll numbers will go up. But best of all, this gives you permission to assume the 2020 election was rigged -- without proof -- because "stop Trump at any cost" is evident in this decision. https://t.co/SP3Dih7q5i — Scott Adams (@ScottAdamsSays) December 20, 2023
