Illegal immigrants are throwing away their military IDs before entering America, says Border Hawk’s Dan Lyman
Illegal immigrants are allegedly throwing away documents that could identify them
as members of foreign militaries before they get to the border and cross into the United States.
This is according to political commentators Breanna Morello and Dan Lyman, who spoke about it during an episode of the former's "Breanna Morello Show" and discussed how the administration of President Joe Biden is not doing anything to resolve the out-of-control border crisis.
Morello said men of military age have been flooding into America illegally and the Biden regime isn't bothered by it at all. She cited multiple reports from independent journalists indicating how individuals have gotten hold of IDs that are tossed out before migrants reach the border. (Related:

According to Morello, one report found that a woman's military ID from Bolivia was thrown away and discovered near the border. The illegals are doing this to make sure they don't have documents to handover when they get to the border
Lyman shared that, during a quick scan of the border on the banks of the Rio Grande River, they found several foreign identity documents, including military IDs. He noted that, within 10 minutes, he and his team had picked up at least 10 foreign identity documents from migrants from Colombia, Cuba, Bolivia and Venezuela.
"And if you went up and down the banks, you could pick up tons and tons of these," he added. "All the people that have discarded proof of who they are. So that when they cross that river and surrender to border patrol or Texas authorities, they can start a new life with a new identity," Lyman said.
Morello stated it is concerning because it makes it hard for the
Department of Homeland Security to do background checks and reach out to the native country these people are coming from to ask who they are, which puts Americans at risk.
Legal migrants and asylum seekers can join the U.S. military
The situation at the border is different from the thousands of legal migrants and asylum seekers in the United States who have chosen to join the U.S. Armed Forces to provide themselves with
an easier pathway to citizenship.
The Army has close to 2,900 enlisted legal migrants during the first half of 2023, a slight increase from the 2,200 during the same period in 2022. The Air Force has about 100 in basic training and another 40 who has completed training.
The military has had some success in recruiting legal immigrants, particularly among those seeking jobs and training as well as the educational benefits that come with completing service terms in the military and, of course, the quicker route that veterans can get to becoming an American citizen.
This comes as all branches of the military say they are falling short of their recruiting goals, and pulling more from the legal immigrant population may provide small boosts.
A bipartisan effort is also currently underway to provide more qualified and vetted legal migrants
with expedited paths to citizenship if they serve in the military. Reps. Pat Ryan (D-NY) and John James (R-MI) introduced this new bill in February, noting that the armed forces missed its recruiting goals by roughly 41,000 in 2023.
