CDC study: COVID-19 vaccine claimed protection of children PLUMMETS within months

Children injected with the original version of the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine have ended up having little protection against hospitalization within months, according to a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The study, which the CDC published in the April 18 edition of its Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR), focused on children five to 18 years old injected with two or more doses of the original Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines from Dec. 19, 2021 through Oct. 29, 2023. The vaccinated children who were hospitalized with acute COVID-19 and tested positive for the illness were compared to a control group of children hospitalized with COVID-19-like symptoms, but who tested negative. According to the paper, children initially have 52 percent protection against hospitalization after being injected with the COVID-19 vaccine. But that estimated effectiveness plummeted to 19 percent after four months. Protection against so-called critical illness also dropped from 57 percent to 25 percent in the same period, the paper added. The researchers asserted that the results highlight the current CDC guidance that all people aged six months and older should receive one of the newest COVID-19 vaccines. The injections were introduced in the fall of 2023 with clinical data from just 50 humans, and no efficacy estimates. (Related: Study links Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine to VAIDS in children.) "The CDC only publishes papers in its weekly digest, the [MMWR], after they're shaped to 'comport with CDC policy,'" according to the Epoch Times. "The papers are not peer-reviewed." CDC Senior Epidemiologist Laura Zambrano served as the first author of the study. However, she did not issue a response when asked for data suggesting that the currently available vaccines provide longer-lasting protection than the original versions.

Study contradicts CDC claims of COVID-19 injections being effective

In its bid to promote vaccination, the public health agency's website states that COVID-19 injections are "effective at protecting people from getting seriously ill, being hospitalized and dying." However, the page that ostensibly supports the statement is no longer live. That, alongside the April 18 MMWR study, contradicts the CDC's claim of COVID-19 vaccines being effective. U.S. authorities have been moving COVID-19 vaccines to a once-a-year model, similar to influenza vaccines. The model features updating the formulation of the vaccines on an annual basis – an acknowledgment that any protection the vaccines give quickly wanes. The formulation is typically updated in the fall, when cases often see a surge due to the colder weather the following winter season. Just 14 percent of children and 23 percent of adults have received one of the newest vaccines as of April 6, according to CDC estimates. The available vaccines are messenger RNA (mRNA) shots from Pfizer and Moderna and an alternative from Novavax. Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) Executive Director Dr. Jane Orient noted that the maximum effectiveness against hospitalization is estimated at 61 percent. The paper also mentioned that more deaths were recorded among the case patients, and that the median hospitalization duration was four days for both groups. "I do not see how a clinician whose concern is treating patients and whose job does not depend on pushing mRNA vaccines would find this a basis for recommending shots – quite the contrary," Orient told the Epoch Times in an email.
