Representative Daniel Goldman (D-NY) appears to have sent over $160,000 in checks to the home address of Loren Merchan — the daughter of Judge Juan Merchan, who presides over former President Donald J. Trump‘s Manhattan hush money trial. The National Pulse reported Tuesday that Goldman acknowledged preparing disgraced serial perjurer Michael Cohen for his cross-examination by Trump’s defense attorneys, which occurred during the trial this week. (Article by William Upton republished from TheNationalPulse.com) Judge Merchan placed a gag order on former President Trump, preventing him from discussing the judge’s daughter and her company, which raises money for numerous Democrat politicians and campaign organizations. The close personal relationship between Goldman and Loren Merchan suggests a clear conflict of interest for Judge Juan Merchan. Former President Trump’s legal team has already pushed the judge several times to recuse himself. Investigative reporter Laura Loomer first uncovered that Goldman’s Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings showed that his campaign sent its payments to Loren Merchan’s personal home address in Richmond, Virginia. Meanwhile, not a single check from the Goldman campaign was sent to the Authentic Campaign office’s address in Chicago. Goldman’s last public payment to Authentic Campaigns was made just days before the start of the hush money trial.

MERCHAN REFUSED TO RECUSE.

At the start of the hush money trial in April, attorneys for former President Trump filed a motion demanding Judge Merchan recuse himself from the proceedings. Trump’s lead counsel, Todd Blanche, argued: “In August 2023, the Court reasoned that recusal was not warranted because President Trump had presented only ‘speculative and hypothetical scenarios.’ The scenarios identified by the defense have come to pass.” Blanche continued: “The trial in this case will benefit Authentic financially by providing its clients more fodder for fundraising, Authentic will make more money by assisting with those communications, and Your Honor’s daughter will continue to earn money from these developments by virtue of her senior role at Authentic.” The Democrat-aligned judge rejected the motion.

LOREN’S DEMOCRAT TIES.

The National Pulse has reported extensively on Judge Merchan and his daughter’s ties to powerful national Democrats and anti-Trump lawfare groups, including the Brennan Center, which sought to keep Trump off the 2024 presidential ballot. In early March, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled that former President Trump would remain on the ballot for the 2024 election, where he leads the 81-year-old Democrat incumbent, Joe Biden, in almost every major poll.
