Air Force accused of promoting DRAG and other LGBT Pride events for military personnel and their families using taxpayer money

The United States Air Force has been accused of allegedly using taxpayer money to promote drag shows, drag queen story hours and other LGBT Pride events for military personnel and their families. In the past, conservative watchdog groups Judicial Watch and CatholicVote.org have been requesting "all emails and text messages sent to and from the Secretary of Defense, Lloyd J. Austin III, Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks and members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff regarding drag shows and drag story hours on U.S. military installations." (Related: "Woke" ad for U.S. Army focuses on LGBTQ issues, lesbian mothers, while Russia focuses on recruiting manly men.) However, the Department of Defense only released the documents of such expenditures on U.S. military installations after multiple "no records" responses to their inquiries. According to the 25 pages worth of documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) on May 30, the U.S. Air Force has been promoting adult- and drag-themed events. The FOIA documents reveal events like a social media post by the Ramstein & Vogelweh Air Force Libraries, including a rainbow Pride flag and images of books with drag-related themes, in Germany during Pride Month in 2021. Additionally, the post advertised a "Drag Queen Story Time" event at the Ramstein Library. Aside from the social media post, the document also uncovered advertisements for a seven-week summer reading program in June 2021, featuring "Drag Queen Storytime," virtual story times, teen socials and scavenger hunts, while an event for those 18 and older, "Drag Karaoke," promoted drink specials and prizes. Meanwhile, an invoice from June 2022 showed a $400 payment to a drag queen named Ms. Lexi Andrews for performances at "Drag Queen Bingo" and a "Glow Party" on consecutive days. In turn, Tim Huelskamp, the senior adviser of CatholicVote, said that the release of the documents has proven one of the most controversial allegations against the U.S. military under the Biden administration — prioritizing wokeism over military readiness. "After an entire year of stonewalling, the Defense Department finally returned materials from just one command in one branch, which confirmed what we feared — that taxpayer funds were being used to promote drag shows and radical gender ideology on military bases, with full approval from Air Force leadership," Huelskamp said. Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton echoed the statement and questioned the spending of the U.S. military. "How on Earth is it appropriate to spend our limited defense dollars on promoting these sexually themed events for children and adults, rather than on advancing the military's mission?" Fitton said. "As we see in these troubling Air Force records, our nation's military is being ruined by woke ideology."

U.S. Air Force have been focusing on "woke ideologies," rather than winning wars

Accusations of the U.S. Air Force focusing more on the woke agenda rather than military readiness have increased in the past few years. In a June 8 tweet, the official Air Force Twitter account featured a silhouette of an Air Force member saluting in front of the 11-striped LGBT flag in celebration of Pride month with the caption that reads: "June is Pride month! The Department of the Air Force proudly recognizes and celebrates generations of LGBT service members and their contributions to the Air Force and Space Force." According to WND, the tweet formed "part of an unprecedented official U.S. military campaign to celebrate LGBT Pride" in line with the "overall leftist 'diversity' formula" of President Joe Biden. But this wasn't the first instance that the president mandated support for LGBT. In 2021, he gave blanket approval for U.S. embassies abroad to fly the LGBT flag to celebrate Pride months – overturning a ban imposed by his predecessor, former President Donald Trump. At that time, the Air Force tweet garnered criticisms from the netizens, with the majority saying they would discourage their children from enlisting in the military. Since then, the recruitment numbers of the U.S. Air Force have been plummeting. Wokies.news has more stories about the woke agenda in the military.
