Thomas Matthew Crooks, the failed assassin of former President Donald Trump,
allegedly had an account on the alternative social media platform Gab.
Gab owner Andrew Torba revealed this in a series of posts on the X platform, adding that Crooks' account seemingly posted several times in support of President Joe Biden's edicts. According to Torba, he was only made aware of the alleged account after receiving an "emergency disclosure request from a law enforcement agency."
"Gab learned that Crooks, the deranged Biden supporter who attempted to assassinate [former] President Donald Trump, may have had an account on our platform," Torba posted on the afternoon of July 24. "We are unable to confirm that the account in question actually belonged to him."
"The account was last active on the site in 2021. As far as we are aware, the account did not use the site to send any direct messages. He posted on the site nine times total. We have saved the account data pending receipt of a search warrant."
Torba also described the content of the posts made by Crooks' alleged account. He wrote: "While the account made very few posts on the site, the majority of them were in support of President Biden. A number of posts in particular expressed support for [his Wuhan coronavirus] COVID-19 lockdowns, border policies and executive orders."
The Gab owner also included screenshots of the said posts allegedly made by the 20-year-old Crooks. According to
LifeSiteNews, the posts indeed "seem to express at least
tacit approval of the Democratic Party's approach" to issues such as illegal immigration, medical tyranny and Biden's executive orders.
News of the Gab account potentially linked to Crooks followed an earlier bombshell report that the devices that regularly visited his home and workplace also visited a location near the Secret Service's headquarters and another near that of the
Federal Bureau of Investigation – both located in the District of Columbia. (Related:

Torba: Gab disclosing existence of Crooks' account at significant risk
In a separate post, Torba shared that his company is "disclosing this information" about Crooks' account on Gab "at significant and personal business risk."
"If the past is any guide, defying the D.C. consensus by publishing the first definitive evidence that the shooter was a Biden supporter – something Democrats and their media allies have tried to cover up and deny at every turn – has a high probability of resulting in significant political and media backlash," he wrote.
"In the past, we have been the target of politically motivated inquiries from both the House Oversight Committee and the [House Select] Committee on the Jan. 6 Attacks, both of which sought to interfere with our mission of protecting free speech online. The enemies of freedom have the ability to impose significant present and future legal costs, and any donations we receive will help to defray those costs."
Torba's words came to pass on July 26, when he posted on X that "Gab's ability to process payments came under attack by the [Biden] regime 48 hours after we broke this story. We are in danger of losing our ability to process online payments again. Please pray that we are able to sort it out."
Despite the high-profile nature of the
July 13 shooting of the former president, little is known of Crooks, who was killed on scene by law enforcement. Crooks fired at Trump while the former president was looking to his side, but failed to kill the Republican presidential nominee and only grazed his ear.
