Flashback: Kamala Harris said back in 2019 that she wants Americans to EAT LESS MEAT if elected president

Vice President Kamala Harris reportedly backed altering the national dietary guidelines so that Americans would consume less meat if she won the presidency, according to a 2019 video that surfaced recently. The video came from a CNN town hall in September 2019, where a voter asked the then-U.S. senator for California if she would back endorse altering the nation's dietary guidelines to reduce red meat consumption. Consumption of red meat is reportedly linked to climate change, something the climate alarmists have been parroting for a long time. Harris said in response: "I think the point that you’re raising in a broader context, which is that, as a nation, we actually have to have a real priority at the highest level of government around what we eat and in terms of healthy eating because we have a problem in America. "We can talk about the subject of this conversation, we can talk about the amount of sugar in everything, we could talk about soda. We could go on and on. So the answer is yes. "I will also say this: the balance that we have to strike here, frankly, is about what government can and should do around creating incentives, and then banning certain behaviors. There has to be also what we do in terms of creating incentives that we will eat in a healthy way, that we will encourage moderation, and that we will be educated about the effect of our eating habits on our environment. We have to do a much better job at that, and the government has to do a much better job at that." CNN's Erin Burnett followed up with a direct question to Harris, to which the then-senator responded in the affirmative. At the end of the day, she did not garner the nomination – with Joe Biden being named instead. Nevertheless, Harris wasn't out of the picture as she was chosen to be his running mate. Climate change was a key issue for Harris during her 2019 presidential campaign

During her 2019 presidential campaign, Harris outlined a comprehensive plan to combat the imaginary problem called climate change and achieve a carbon-neutral economy by the year 2045. The plan involved phasing out gas-powered car sales by 2035, with a view to making 100 percent of new car-sales to be zero-emission vehicles. It also involved supporting a proposal by U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) centering on zero-emissions vehicles. Aside from these, Harris' plan also involves mandating carbon-neutral building standards and shifting utilities to renewable energy sources across the energy, transportation, infrastructure, industry and agriculture sectors. It also seeks to reinforce the Golden State's emission standards under the Clean Air Act – surpassing standards first set by the Obama administration. Moreover, Harris' proposal estimated to cost $10 trillion also includes a new "cash for clunkers" program, increased electric vehicle tax credits and funding for wildfire protection plans in Western states. It also highlights environmental justice by incorporating the Climate Equity Act. As a senator, she co-sponsored the Green New Deal to advocate for a substantial increase in the production of renewable energy sources such as wind, solar and hydropower. The 10-year mobilization plan sought to transition to energy systems with reduced reliance on greenhouse gas emissions. Follow KamalaHarris.news for more stories about the vice president.
