Demons in uniform: IDF soldiers rape, torture Palestinian detainees

Reports and pieces of evidence have surfaced proving that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has been routinely sexually assaulting and torturing Palestinian detainees. According to reports, nine soldiers from prison unit Force 100, which is tasked with guarding the Sde Teiman facility, were arrested for gang-raping a Palestinian inmate with a sharp object before the end of July. (Related: EVIL: Leaked video footage shows IDF soldier RAPING unarmed Palestinian male – tearing his rectum, rupturing his bowels and PARALYZING him.) Military prosecutors released three of the arrested soldiers on Aug. 4, adding to the two previously released by investigators following a military court hearing in Kfar Yona on July 30, at which protesters gathered in support of the soldiers. At least 53 prisoners died in Israeli detention presumably because of torture or following the denial of access to medical care. Worse, no investigations have been carried out by Israel and no arrests have been made. Moreover, the United Nations published a report on July 31 into the conditions in which some 9,400 captive Palestinians have been held since October 2023. The report stated that "appalling acts" of torture and abuse are taking place at all of Israel's detention centers, including sexual violence, waterboarding and attacks with dogs. It noted that there were "forced nudity of both men and women; beatings while naked; electrocution of the genitals and anus; repeated humiliating strip searches; widespread sexual slurs and threats of rape; and inappropriate touching of women by both male and female soldiers." Additionally, there were reports of Israeli security forces "inserting objects into detainees' anuses."

Israeli officials defend IDF soldiers' actions

Israeli officials, including cabinet members, have defended the accused, saying that everything is "legitimate." Israel's Minister of National Security Ben-Gvir, who is responsible for the prison service, told the local media on the day of the reservists' arrest that it was "shameful" for Israel to arrest "our best heroes" Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich also published a video message saying that "IDF soldiers deserve respect" and must not be treated as "criminals." In fact, far-right mobs, some of which included government ministers, stormed the facility at Sde Teiman, calling for the arrested soldiers' release. Critics could not help but lament this inhumane ideology. LifeSiteNews' Jonathan Cook pointed out that the IDF does not deserve the "redemption" it is getting. "It is the same military that since October has laid waste to all of Gaza's hospitals, as well as destroying almost all of its schools and 70 percent of its homes. It is the same military that is known to have killed over that period at least 40,000 Palestinians, with a further 21,000 children missing," Cook wrote in an Aug. 21 article. "It is the same military currently on trial for genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the highest court in the world." However, the Israeli army has been systematically using physical and sexual torture against Palestinians since at least 1967, as human rights groups revealed years ago. Indeed, sadism has been characteristic of the Zionist colonists' treatment of Palestinians since the 1880s. This sadism and the sexual torture that often accompanies it are rooted not only in European colonial hubris but also in Orientalist views that Arabs only "understand force" and are allegedly more susceptible to sexual torture than white Europeans. The U.S. Department of State, presumably appalled by such torture, described a video reportedly showing the alleged rape as "horrific" and insisted that "there ought to be zero tolerance for sexual abuse, rape of any detainee, period... If there are detainees who have been sexually assaulted or raped, the government of Israel, the IDF [Israeli army] need to fully investigate those actions and hold anyone responsible accountable to the full extent of the law." The White House also found reports of Israeli sexual torture "deeply concerning." Moreover, the European Union mirrored the sentiment and claimed to be "gravely concerned."
