Putin endorses Kamala over Trump: "She laughs so expressively and infectiously that it means that everything is fine with her"
Russian President Vladimir Putin made an appearance at the recent Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok during which he
endorsed Kamala Harris for U.S. president in 2024 rather than Donald Trump.
Putin was heard telling the audience that he really admires Kamala's "infectious laugh," and the fact that Joe Biden decided to drop out of the race and allow her to replace him as the Democrat candidate.
Before Biden called it quits following a disastrous June debate with Trump, Putin supported "the big guy" for a second term as America's president. Now that Biden is gone, Putin wants Kamala to take the reins in 2025 and beyond.
When asked if he plans to call and congratulate whoever ends up getting installed into the White House, Putin revealed that Western leaders in general have barely spoken to him over the past couple years – so probably not.
Putin also clarified that despite him personally rooting for Kamala this fall, it is not up to Russia to select a "favorite" candidate for the U.S. presidential election.

Putin can't get enough of Kamala's cackling
Putin emphasized again during his speech that he loves how Kamala "laughs so infectiously." This, Putin says, is evidence that "everything is going well for her."
Putin hopes that all of those fake smiles and nonstop laughing mean that Kamala will refrain from imposing as many sanctions on Russia as Biden and Trump would. All he cares about is protecting Russia by rooting for the candidate who he feels is most likely to go easy on his country.
"In the end, the choice is up to the American people and we will treat their eventual decision with respect," Putin said.
Rebekah Koffler, author of "Putin's Playbook," claims that despite Putin's rhetoric, "the Russians don't really endorse anyone in the traditional sense."
"When it comes to preference, Putin and his regime prefer Kamala to deal with as a future U.S. president," Koffler is quoted as saying to
Fox News Digital. "Putin believes that he can manipulate Harris easily, unlike Trump, whom the Russians profiled as unpredictable and difficult to read."
"By issuing these statements, the Russians are just messing with us, specifically with the Harris Team. It's a classic influence operation to unbalance your adversary by mocking, teasing, and pleasing them, or rather appearing to please."
The interesting thing about Putin's public statements in favor of Kamala is that, according to the U.S. intelligence community, Russia has always been secretly allied with Trump, hence all the Russian collusion chatter during Trump's first term.
Both in 2016 and 2020, Putin's actions showed that he favored Trump over the other candidates, according to the U.S. Director of National Intelligence (DNI) who, following an investigation, said:
"... that Russian President Putin authorized, and a range of Russian government organizations conducted, influence operations aimed at denigrating President Biden's candidacy and the Democratic Party, supporting former President Trump, undermining public confidence in the electoral process, and exacerbating sociopolitical divisions in the U.S."
One would think that Putin prefers another Trump presidency simply because Trump has repeatedly stated that he does not support any further U.S. aid going to Ukraine.
"I don't really care what happens to Ukraine one way or the other," Trump said after choosing Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance as his running mate.
If Trump wins, there is a pretty good chance that he will pull U.S. troops out of Europe and leave Putin to finish his special military operation in Ukraine.
