Rapper and record producer Sean "Diddy" Combs has been arrested by federal agents on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and interstate transportation for prostitution. The founder of Bad Boy Records was taken into custody by agents of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) on Sept. 16. His arrest came a day after he was indicted by a federal grand jury. A New York judge refused Combs bail and ordered him to remain in jail while he awaits trial. Damian Williams, U.S. attorney for the southern district of New York, told reporters during a press briefing that the rap mogul "abused, threatened and coerced victims to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his conduct." According to 100 Percent Fed Up, Combs faces numerous allegations of sexual assault, physical abuse and sex trafficking. Combs' lawyer Marc Agnifilo said his client had been cooperating with the probe and had relocated to New York in anticipation of charges being brought against him. He described the rapper as a music icon and a "loving family man" – far from how he was described in lawsuits as a violent partner. "We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney's Office. He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal," Agnifilo said in a statement. "Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court." The federal investigation of Combs, 58, first came to light when HSI agents served simultaneous search warrants and raided his mansions in Los Angeles and Miami in March. His attorney Aaron Dyer denounced the raids as "a gross use of military-level force" and reiterated that the allegations against Combs were "meritless." Diddy sued by ex-partner, other women

The Associated Press reported, citing several sources, that Combs was sued by his former protege and girlfriend Cassandra Ventura – mononymously known as the R&B singer Cassie – last November. She became the first of several women to take him to court for sexual abuse. As the lawsuits streamed, stories of a steady stream of sex workers in drug-fueled settings where some of those involved were coerced or cajoled into sex emerged. It was then that a different image of Combs became evident. Ventura's complaint accused Combs of engaging in sex trafficking, and alleged that he compelled her to help him traffic male sex workers Combs would force Cassie to have sex with while he filmed. While the suit was quickly settled, the rap mogul was unable to evade its repercussions. A leaked security video of him from 2016 punching Ventura, kicking her and throwing her on the floor in a hotel hallway went viral in May – crystal-clear evidence that the rapper was indeed abusing his then-partner. It was only then that Combs acknowledged wrongdoing, taking to social media to post an apology video. "I was disgusted when I did it, [and] I'm disgusted now," he said. But this failed to mollify the public as at least a half-dozen other women stepped forward and took Combs to court in the ensuing months. A second woman accused the rap producer of raping her two decades ago when she was seventeen. A third accuser, April Lampros, recounted that she was a college student when she met Combs in 1994. Lampros then disclosed a series of "terrifying sexual encounters" with him and those around him began soon after they met, with the encounters lasting for years. Visit Evil.news for similar stories.
