Netanyahu says bombings in Lebanon will continue until Israel completes mission: "Our war is not with you; our war is with Hezbollah"
Things are
heating up in Israel after Hezbollah, for the first time since the start of the current conflict, launched a drone attack on a navy base located to the south of Haifa.
The Atlit navy base sits about 80 kilometers (about 50 miles) from Israel's border with Lebanon to the north. It is considered to be a target deep within Israeli territory, which means things will only escalate from here as Benjamin Netanyahu has made it clear that the bombings will continue until his mission is completed.
As Lebanon bombs away at Israeli targets, Israel is doing the same to Lebanese targets. Netanyahu took to Twitter / X to reiterate his plans for the region moving forward:
"We will continue striking Hezbollah. Anyone who has a missile in their living room and a rocket in their garage will not have a home."
Netanyahu's statements are part and parcel of what Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have been claiming all along about Hezbollah storing missiles, drones and ammunition inside residential homes throughout the south of Lebanon.
"Our war is not with you," Netanyahu clarified to the civilians of Lebanon. "Our war is with Hezbollah. Nasrallah is leading you to the brink of the abyss. Rid yourself from Nasrallah's grip, for your own good."

Biden backs Israel, says Israelis are merely defending themselves with war
The White House, meanwhile, continues to send mixed messages about the conflict. President Biden, who does still appear to be alive – or at least they have a pretty passable lookalike – commented about Israel's ramped-up airstrikes on Lebanon by framing the war as Israel's "right to defend itself," a common trope.
"Any country, any country, would have the right responsibility to ensure that such an attack could never happen again," Biden mumbled in a word salad delivery of his pro-Israel message to Americans concerning the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel.
"Innocent civilians are going through hell," Biden continued, referring to the people of Gaza. "Thousands and thousands killed, including aid workers. Too many families dislocated, crowded in a tent, facing a dire situation. They didn't ask for this war."
Biden went on to state that he is "determined to prevent a wider war that engulfs the entire region," this in the final few months of his presidency before either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump takes the reins in early 2025.
Israel's most recent air assault resulted in the deaths of six people at a building in southern Lebanon where Hezbollah is said to have had a rocket and missile division led by Ibrahim Qubaisi.
"Over the years and during the war, he was responsible for the launches at the Israeli home front," the IDF said about the now-deceased Qubaisi, who "was a central source of knowledge in the field of missiles, and was close to the senior military leadership of Hezbollah."
