In his 14th sermon for the 100 Sermons Series on the "Health Ranger Report," Bible nutrition educator Mike Adams pointed out that
people prefer slavery over the journey to freedom with God.
He based his sermon on the book of Numbers in the Old Testament, which is among the Pentateuch – the Bible's first five books. While Moses was leading the Israelites to freedom from Egypt toward the Promised Land after receiving the God's covenant at Mount Sinai, the people did not appreciate what God had done for them during their journey.
The 11th chapter of the book
recounts one instance: "Now when the people complained, it displeased the Lord; for the Lord heard it, and His anger was aroused. So the fire of the Lord burned among them, and consumed some in the outskirts of the camp. Then the people cried out to Moses, and when Moses prayed to the Lord, the fire was quenched." (Numbers 11:1-2)
Aside from this,
the rebellion led by Korah, Dathan and Abiram against Moses and Aaron led to some of the Israelites dying from an earthquake, fire from the Lord and plague. The Israelites later complained about
the lack of water while in the Wilderness of Zin, which resulted in Moses and Aaron not being able to enter the Promised Land because of their failure to honor God in the presence of the people.
But there is a common theme between the three instances – the Israelites are complaining that Moses took them out of slavery under Pharaoh only to die in the wilderness. Their
ungratefulness only incurred God's wrath, forcing Him to unleash punishment on the Israelites.
Their complaints, Adams remarked, were typical complaints people on long journeys have. Thus, he zoomed in on the psychology or the emotional reaction of people who are in the process or being helped or saved.
Be faithful to God every step of the way in your life journey
In the real world, many people are going on a journey – including refugees fleeing cities in Europe and fleeing oppression in various countries around the world, with some of them attempting to come to America. (Related:
Boatloads of illegal migrants making their way into Europe via Spain.)
Because of the way the world is presently working, there are a lot of movements and people are desperate to change their circumstances. But the problem isn't only limited to people on the move as several cities in Western countries are suffering from economic issues, geopolitical issues, risk of war issues, food shortages, food inflation and more.
Adams pointed out that the journey of life for people is tough just like the journey of the Israelites. This journey will be characterized by famine, thirst, unhappiness and the wrath of God.
But if the Father were to act today with the same sense of response, anger or wrath that He inflicted upon the Israelites, He would set fire to much of the planet and many human beings in the modern day will be incinerated.
The
Brighteon.com and
Natural News founder said a person must not have partial faith in God in their life journey, especially in difficult times. The Promised Land in the modern world, he added, might be a new nation of freedom and liberty without tyranny and authoritarianism. It can also be people succeeding in getting out of a city and moving to a rural area to be safer and to grow more food.
But once a person decides to take that journey in faith toward their own Promised Land, they should not curse God during the tough times like the Israelites did. Rather, one must be faithful in every step of the way.
"Remember the importance of remaining obedient to God. Do not complain if your journey is difficult, get that out of your way," said Adams. "Get it over with and then reaffirm your commitment to walking the path that God wants you to walk."
