Former President Donald Trump has blamed President Joe Biden, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and their governments
for Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, saying that they provoked President Vladimir Putin into invading.
Trump made this comment during his interview on the business podcast, "PBD Podcast," with host Patrick Bet-David. The comments come just three weeks before the Election Day on Nov. 5. (Related:

In the podcast interview, Trump said that
Biden "instigated the war." The former president also criticized Zelensky and the massive amounts of military aid Washington has been providing to Kyiv.
"And that doesn't mean I don't want to help them because I feel very badly for those people. But he [Zelensky] should never have let that war start," said Trump. "That war's a loser."
Trump claims had he been officially elected and inaugurated after the 2020 election, Russia would never have launched its military operation into Ukraine in February 2022.
"This should've been settled before it started," he said. "It would've been so easy. If we had a president with half a brain, it would've been easy to settle."
Trump: Ukraine war should have never happened
In the "PBD Podcast" interview, Trump further warned that the United States may end up getting dragged into
a third World War over Ukraine – possibly even before inauguration day on Jan. 20, 2025.
"It's getting really bad over there, I'll tell you. The Russia-Ukraine [conflict] – it's getting really bad," Trump warned. "
You could have World War III, and [it could] even [start before] the three or four months left [before the inauguration]. That's a lot of months, that's a lot of time left, you could have World War III even before I take office if I was elected."
"This is a war that should have never happened. You have millions of people who are dead, much more than you're reading about," Trump warned, before going into detail about how many major cities in Ukraine have been severely damaged. "There's no city. You go to the city, and every building is demolished. It looks like a demolition crew went through."
With the specter of World War III haunting the conflict, Trump lamented how the federal government has allowed the Biden administration to spend untold billions of taxpayer dollars to fund the conflict.
"It's so bad what they're doing with the money. The billions and billions of dollars. I think Zelensky's one of the greatest salesmen I've ever seen. Every time he comes in, we give him a hundred billion dollars," said Trump. "Who else got that kind of money in history? There's never been."
