Israeli soldiers mock the destruction of Lebanese infrastructure and sites with dark and disturbing "reviews" on Google
Israeli soldiers have been mocking Lebanese infrastructure and sites by leaving disturbing "reviews" on Google.
According to a
Middle East Eye report, Israeli soldiers have been posting Google reviews to mockingly describe Lebanon sites badly affected by the ongoing and escalating Israeli military operations in the country. The reviews, often written in a tone of dark humor, joke about the damage inflicted on Lebanese infrastructure and sites.
One such review by Gabi Weisskopf about the Ahel al-Quran Mosque near the town of Yarine reads: "No mosque, only rubble and a blocked tunnel entrance. I went for nothing. Do not recommend."
In another post, Elad Biton sarcastically reviewed the now-burned Meiss Ej Jabal public hospital in the town of the same name: "Just disappointing, it said that it opens in the morning, we arrived and it was closed! Gall! Really bad service. There are no good conditions for staying. But other than that, there was (a lot) [of fire]." (Related:

In another review, an Israeli soldier posted a photo of an Israeli tank placed in a gym in Ramyeh. He described it with an iconic critic of the gym's "terrible synergy" with the Merkava tank.
"The gym itself is quite a high quality, but there is a terrible synergy between the Merkavas [tanks] and the tunnels, like, both facilities exist in the gym, but the tunnels are way too small to use the Merkava in them, I know it's not a big deal but with oversight like this I can't bring myself to rate this 5 stars," wrote a user named Tomer8009, who gave the gym four stars.
Another soldier named Doron Blumshtein also posted a mock review of a damaged camping cabin near the Israeli border and thanked Lebanon "for the donation," but lamented about the poor condition of the poll and broken windows. "Thank you for the donation. The soldiers had a great time. It's a shame there are many rats and there is no water in the pool and all the windows are broken," he wrote.
Another individual posted a review for a restaurant in the town of Aitaroun that read: "Delicious food. Explosion [sic] atmosphere."
All of the places the Israeli soldiers mockingly reviewed – Yarine, Meiss Ej Jabal, Ramyeh and Aitaroun – are currently occupied by Israeli Defense Forces personnel.
Israeli soldiers have been using social media platforms to boast about their war crimes
This unsettling trend mirrors similar content Israeli soldiers posted on several social media platforms.
A new documentary published by
Al Jazeera's Investigative Unit in October revealed that Israeli soldiers have been sharing photos and videos of them
conducting war crimes in Gaza, including looting Palestinian homes, mockingly wearing residents' clothing – including women's clothing, celebrating the widespread destruction of residential buildings and potentially unlawful killings in Gaza on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook.
One segment of the documentary shows a video uploaded by a member of the Israeli 202nd Paratroopers Battalion, in which three unarmed Palestinian men are seen being shot by snipers. Another aspect of the film recounts an Israeli army unit's destruction of Khirbet Khaza'a, a Gaza town near the Israeli kibbutz of Nir Oz, targeted after an earlier Hamas assault. The documentary also includes footage of an Israeli soldier posting "before and after" shots of the town's obliteration, set to music, in what the soldier described as "revenge."
In Lebanon, meanwhile, Israeli soldiers have reportedly filmed themselves stealing money and IDs, detonating buildings and using people's property for amusement.
