Former Disney animator sentenced to 25 years behind bars for sex trafficking and child sex abuse
A former animator for The Walt Disney Company
has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for sex trafficking and child sexual abuse.
LifeSiteNews reported, citing French newspaper
Le Monde, that Bolhem Bouchiba was convicted on sex trafficking, child sexual assault and child pornography charges. The complaint against Bouchiba, 59, said the former animator for Disney, Pixar and DreamWorks patronized websites that allowed him to remotely direct the sexual assault of children as young as two years old for his own amusement.
The former animator was found guilty of paying Filipino women to rape and abuse girls between the ages of five and 10, with a two-year-old victim being abused in one instance. He paid as much as $1,000 per livestream between 2012 and 2021.
"While watching, Bouchiba masturbated and [dictated] what to do with the children, calling them 'pigs,'"
the Ukrainian online publication Babel reported.
According to
Babel, the animator has been with Disney and Pixar since the 1990s. His body of work includes "Tarzan," "Lilo and Stitch," "Ratatouille," "Up" and "Elemental."
LifeSiteNews pointed out that this was not the first time Bouchiba was convicted of a sex crime. In 2014, he was put on France's sex offender registry for molesting the eight-year-old daughter of his then-partner. Bouchiba only served two years' probation for this offense.
"[On one side], you have the graphic designer who amazes children," said Philippe Courroye, advocate general of the Paris Court of Appeal. "Then on the court side, Bohlem Bouchiba is a pedophile director who writes his own films of horror."
Aside from the prison term, Bouchiba must also pay restitution to the victims. But his ordeal does not stop after serving time in jail and paying damages. After his release, the former animator will be barred from working with children and will be closely monitored for another 20 years.
Meanwhile, Bouchiba's defense team argued that their client should be shown leniency in light of his supposed "psychological" evolution since being arrested in 2021 for the charges. He had also confessed to his "horrible" and "disgusting" crimes, telling the court: "I know everything I did. I apologize to the victims."
Sheriff Judd: It's always someone from Disney
The case of Bouchiba is the latest in a growing number of instances where employees from Disney are being nabbed for child sexual abuse. Even Sheriff Grady Judd of Florida's Polk County could not help but point out that
there's always someone from the entertainment giant being arrested in his office's sting operations.
In June 2022, the Polk County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) arrested 12 men who allegedly solicited children online for sex. Deputies told local Orlando news channel
WKMG 6 that the suspects are facing a total of 49 felonies, including traveling to meet a minor for sex; attempted lewd battery; use of a computer to seduce a child; use of a two-way communication device to commit a felony; and transmission of material harmful to a child.
Among the 12 arrested was Zachary Hudson, who was employed as a bus driver for Disney World. The sheriff shared a photo of Hudson, 30, still in uniform at the time of his arrest.
Judd told reporters during a press conference at the time: "What would an operation be, either a predator operation or human trafficking operation, without a Disney employee? We always have a Disney employee." (Related:
