CIA Report confirms lab origin of COVID-19, exposing Pentagon’s role in identical bioweapons research
Nearly five years after the COVID-19 scandal emerged,
a declassified CIA report has reignited the debate over the origins of SARS-CoV-2. The report, released under the Biden administration but declassified by former President Donald Trump, concludes that a laboratory origin is “most likely” for the virus. However, the real bombshell lies in what the report omits: evidence of
nearly identical virus research conducted by the Pentagon in 2017. This revelation, coupled with a groundbreaking German study, suggests a coordinated effort to conceal the role of U.S. and Western agencies in the development of SARS-CoV-2, while shifting blame to China. The findings raise urgent questions about bioweapon research, global accountability, and the ethical implications of genetic engineering of v iruses to unleash mRNA vaccine and testing programs.
CIA Report confirms a laboratory origin for COVID-19, strategic planning
The CIA’s assessment, released in January 2025, marks a significant shift in the narrative surrounding the origins of COVID-19. The agency stated with “low confidence” that the virus likely originated from a laboratory, joining the FBI and the Department of Energy in this conclusion. However, the report stops short of assigning responsibility, instead focusing on China’s alleged lack of transparency.
John Ratcliffe, former CIA director, has long supported the lab leak theory, telling a congressional committee in April 2023 that it is the “only” explanation for the pandemic. Yet, the CIA’s findings are not based on new evidence but rather on existing intelligence, raising questions about the timing and motivations behind the report’s release.
The report’s release coincides with a German study that identifies a 2017 Pentagon-funded experiment involving a chimeric MERS virus with a furin cleavage site identical to that of SARS-CoV-2. This discovery, published in BMC Genomic Data, provides a “smoking gun” linking U.S. research to the pandemic virus.
The German study, led by computational biologist Andreas Martin Lisewski, reveals that a 2017 experiment involving a mouse-adapted MERS virus (MERS-MA30) produced a furin cleavage site nearly identical to that of SARS-CoV-2. This site, a molecular “scissor” that allows the virus to enter human cells, is a key factor in the virus’s lethality and transmissibility.
Key findings from the study include:
• The furin cleavage site in SARS-CoV-2 includes a unique sequence (RRAR) that was also present in the 2017 MERS-MA30 virus.
• The site contains additional functional motifs, including a nuclear localization signal and O-glycosites, which help the virus evade the immune system.
• The 2017 experiment was funded by the
Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and conducted under the supervision of Dr. Ralph Baric, a leading coronavirus researcher at the University of North Carolina.
Dr. David Baltimore, a Nobel Prize-winning virologist, described the furin cleavage site as the “smoking gun” for the virus’s artificial origin. “When I first saw the furin cleavage site in the viral sequence with its arginine codons, I said to my wife it was the smoking gun for the origin of the virus,” he stated.
The cover-up: CIA, Pentagon, and global complicity
The CIA’s report and the German study point to a broader pattern of concealment and misdirection. Investigations by Gospa News and other independent outlets have uncovered evidence of U.S. involvement in coronavirus research dating back to the 1990s, including:
• The 1998 agreement between President Bill Clinton and Chinese President Jiang Zemin to collaborate on bacteriological weapons research.
• The establishment of the Pentagon’s Biological Technologies Office (BTO) in 2014, which funded gain-of-function research on coronaviruses.
• The role of Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), in overseeing these experiments.
The CIA’s report also fails to address the mysterious death of Professor Frank Plummer, a leading scientist who worked on MERS and SARS viruses. Plummer died suddenly in February 2020, just days before the COVID-19 pandemic was declared.
The revelations surrounding SARS-CoV-2’s origins paint a disturbing picture of global complicity in the development and dissemination of a potentially engineered virus. The CIA’s report, while acknowledging a laboratory origin, serves as a smokescreen, diverting attention from the Pentagon’s role in nearly identical virus research. The German study, meanwhile, provides irrefutable evidence of a “smoking gun” linking U.S. experiments to the pandemic virus and the subsequent totalitarian actions taken by governments worldwide for the rapid implementation of mRNA
“vaccine” experiments.
