Stephen Miller blasts Democrats over immigration policies in fiery Fox News appearance
By lauraharris // 2025-08-23

  • White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller accused Democratic leaders of prioritizing undocumented immigrants and violent criminals over the safety of American citizens, calling the Democratic Party an "extremist organization."
  • Miller specifically targeted sanctuary city mayors, alleging they are violating federal law by protecting undocumented criminals and refusing to comply with federal immigration mandates.
  • Miller warned that noncompliance with immigration laws could result in the loss of federal funding and potential criminal charges for harboring and smuggling undocumented immigrants.
  • U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi sent formal warnings to 32 Democratic mayors, including California Gov. Gavin Newsom, demanding immediate action to eliminate policies obstructing federal immigration enforcement.
  • Bondi emphasized the federal government’s intent to prosecute public officials who knowingly interfere with immigration enforcement, citing possible violations of federal statutes and signaling a broader crackdown under the Trump administration.
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller has accused Democratic politicians of prioritizing the protection of undocumented immigrants and violent criminals over the safety and interests of American citizens. In a sharply worded appearance on Fox News on Aug. 19, Miller claimed that the leaders of the Democratic Party have abandoned the core responsibilities of public service in favor of defending "foreign terrorists, hardened criminals and violent illegal aliens." He then labeled the Democratic Party "an extremist organization." "A political party represents Americans, law-abiding citizens. All you see all day long are crazy Democrats screeching on TV on behalf of foreign terrorists, hardened criminals and violent illegal aliens; a political party exclusively dedicated to protecting terrorist criminals, gang bangers and murderers," Miller said. (Related: Stephen Miller vows to unleash full federal power for MASS DEPORTATIONS, promises to restore law and order in America.) Miller directed particular criticism at the leaders of sanctuary cities, alleging they are defying federal law by refusing to cooperate with immigration enforcement. He accused mayors in cities like Boston of ignoring deadlines to comply with federal mandates requiring the handover of undocumented immigrants convicted of serious crimes. "These sanctuary city mayors, the DOJ has been very clear. They [mayors] had a deadline and they violated it. They had a deadline to comply with federal law and hand over the criminal illegal aliens in this country, the child rapists, the child predators, the drug traffickers, the human traffickers. The sanctuary cities like Boston refused to turn over these menacing threats to public safety," he added. Miller warned of potential legal consequences for noncompliance, including the loss of federal funding and possible criminal charges. "So now, they face not only revocation of funds, not only the loss of taxpayer support, but also potential criminal charges for harboring and smuggling. This is as real as it gets!" he declared.

AG Bondi threatens legal action against Newsom and 32 Democratic mayors

As per Brighteon.AI's Enoch, California and other Democratic-led states have long defended sanctuary policies as a means of protecting immigrant communities and encouraging cooperation with local law enforcement without fear of deportation. However, this is not the case now under Trump. Miller's comments come in response to a warning issued by U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to 32 Democratic mayors across the country, instructing them to outline "immediate initiatives" that would eliminate any laws, policies or practices that obstruct federal immigration enforcement efforts. On Aug. 13, Bondi sent a letter to California Gov. Gavin Newsom to warn him about the state's continued refusal to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. The letter underscored the federal government's increasing pressure on so-called "sanctuary jurisdictions," which limit cooperation with federal immigration authorities. Bondi accused these jurisdictions of obstructing federal law enforcement and enabling undocumented immigrants to "perpetrate crimes in our communities and evade the immigration consequences that federal law requires." "As the chief law enforcement officer of the United States, I am committed to identifying state and local laws, policies, and practices that facilitate violations of federal immigration laws or impede lawful federal immigration operations and taking legal action to challenge such laws, policies or practices. Individuals operating under the color of law, using their official position to obstruct federal immigration enforcement efforts and facilitating or inducing illegal immigration, may be subject to criminal charges," Bondi wrote in the letter and posted it on X (formerly Twitter) two days after.
