Despite all the horrific acts Israel has been committing in Gaza, they still managed to stun the world with the sheer audacity of their latest atrocity. On Monday, Israeli forces launched a double-tap strike on Gaza’s Nasser Hospital, killing at least 20 people, including five journalists—Mariam Abu Dagga (AP), Mohammad Salama (Al Jazeera), Hussam al-Masri (Reuters), Moaz Abu Taha (freelancer), and Ahmed Abu Aziz. Rescue workers and medics who rushed to the scene were also slaughtered in the second strike. And what did Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have to say? A cold, calculated apology, calling it a “tragic mishap” while his military investigates itself, as if that means anything. Let’s be clear: This was no accident.
