Global Nuclear Fusion Investments Surge to Record High in 2025
Private investment in nuclear fusion reached a record level in 2025, according to the Fusion Industry Association (FIA). The surge is driven by rising electricity demand from AI data centers and growing energy security concerns, officials said.
According to industry analysts, the investment total for 2025 represents a significant increase from prior years, with about 71% of fusion companies now expecting to deliver commercial power to the grid by the 2030s.
