Gun "waiting period" leads to a New Jersey woman being murdered... no outcry from the liberal media
The Leftist media are fond of saying they have support for and sympathize with those who are most defenseless in the face of evil, but they’re also the first ones to support depriving defenseless citizens of the means to adequately protect themselves when they’re in danger.
The media’s knee-jerk support for Democratic anti-gun policies belies their ‘compassion’ for the defenseless due to the impact restrictive gun regulations have on
real people, which is profound.
And deadly.
As
TownHall’s Matt Vespa reports, “insane” gun laws in New Jersey contributed to the death of a woman in June 2015 who was stabbed by an ex-boyfriend as she waited on a state agency to issue her a “firearm identification card” so she could ‘legally’ obtain a handgun – a process that takes
months.
The
Courier-Post reported further that Carol Bowne, 39, described as a “petite hairdresser,” felt threatened by domestic violence to the point where she began the months-long process of getting a handgun to defend herself in her Berlin Township home.
She had gotten a restraining order against a former boyfriend, Michael Eitel, 45, but like so many others before and after him Eitel ignored it, showed up at Bowne’s home and allegedly stabbed her to death.
The paper reported:
[Bowne] got a restraining order against a former boyfriend, installed security cameras and an alarm system to her home and began the months-long process of obtaining a handgun, friends said.
But it wasn’t enough.
Eitel reportedly stabbed Bowne to death in her driveway, then fled. He was being sought by U.S. Marshals but he didn’t run far; authorities found him in the garage of a nearby home where he
hanged himself.
Her co-workers at the White House Pike salon were devastated. To them, they’d lost a family member.
“We’re family,” Linda O’Hara, the salon owner and Bowne’s boss of 20 years, told the local paper.
“She absolutely did everything she was supposed to,” added Denise Lovallo, a co-worker, after Eitel reportedly broke her car windows.
Anti-gun laws are killers
Well, she was sure
trying to do everything she was supposed to. But the authoritarian nannies who run the state of New Jersey – that would be anti-gun
Democrats– weren’t doing everything
they could do to ensure that one of their citizens was as well-defended as she could be. (Related:

The arduous process to obtain a firearm ID card
includes these measures:
-- Applicants have to surrender their statutory and other rights to confidentiality regarding institutional confinement;
-- Applicants have to supply the names and addresses of
two“reputable citizens” as references;
-- The endorsement of the local police chief
after said chief investigates the applicant
fully;
-- Applicants must be fingerprinted.
And again, this process takes
months.
It’s heartbreaking what happened to Carol Bowne, who checked on her gun ID card application process just days before she was murdered. It’s pathetic that New Jersey lawmakers were essentially enablers and co-conspirators in the murder through their passage of laws, rules, and other restrictions that undermine the Second Amendment and put peoples’ lives at risk.
Why do Americans elect candidates
whose objectives in life are to restrict their rights? What legitimacy does a lawmaker have who is protected by men and women with guns when taking away citizens’ right to defend
themselves with a gun?
We see all of these nonsensical protests against POTUS Donald Trump replete with accusations about how he’s a “Nazi” and a “tyrant,” when he’s done
nothing to take away anyone’s rights and does not support such actions.
How come we never see those same people protesting
Democrats who are
really the ones who are guilty of limiting rights or taking them away altogether?
“These laws arguably cost Bowne her life,” Vespa writes.
Without a doubt.
