Nearly three dozen people aligned with left-wing extremist group Antifa were arrested on Sunday following a clash with local police after they attacked a site where a law enforcement training center is being planned and built. "Antifa attacked the Atlanta future Public Safety Training Facility. This is domestic terrorism. It was planned for weeks and announced on social media. Antifa are self proclaimed communists and consistently organize to attack our government over and over again. They should be taken seriously and not tolerated anymore," Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), noted on Twitter. "BREAKING:@Atlanta_Police released the footage of the violent #Antifa @defendATLforest attack on police & the construction site of the Public Safety Training Center. The attackers are masked, & they came with explosive fireworks & firebombs. The officers retreated. @NLGnews members in green hats came with the violent mob," The Post Millennial's Andy Ngo reported on Twitter, along with video of the attack. Ngo posted another tweet that contained video from another angle showing officers clearly under attack with explosives that, if they landed close enough, could kill or severely wound them. "Breaking: @Atlanta_Police released another camera angle of the #Antifa terror attack southeast of Atlanta. A large mob of @defendATLforest masked extremists ambushed the officers, hurling explosive fireworks & rocks at them. The officers were trying to guard the Public Safety Training Center construction site. #StopCopCity," he wrote. In another tweet, Greene said she plans to introduce a bill declaring Antifa a domestic terrorist group -- because that's exactly what it is. "Antifa are domestic terrorists and I'm introducing my resolution to officially declare them a terrorist organization on Tuesday," she wrote in a tweet containing video of a piece of construction equipment on fire. Ngo provided additional updates: Several Antifa members were eventually arrested. Police in Atlanta filed charges of felony state domestic terrorism against 23 protesters who were taken into custody on Sunday. The demonstrators are accused of throwing bricks, rocks, fireworks, and Molotov cocktails at police officers in close proximity to the proposed public safety training center, ABC News reported on Monday. "This wasn't about a public training center, this was about anarchy and this was about an attempt to destabilize," Schierbaum said at a news conference Sunday night. "When you throw commercial grade fireworks, when you throw Molotov cocktails, large rocks, a number of items at officers, your only intent is to harm." Years in prison for many of those who were caught will hopefully deter other attacks, and if not, then perhaps police should counter lethal force with lethal force next time.
