Kamala Harris as GUN CONTROL CZAR? Prepare for MORE runaway violence from emboldened criminals

Conservatives have slammed the appointment of Vice President Kamala Harris as head of the federal office of gun violence prevention. Former Republican Florida congressional candidate Lavern Spicer took to social media to express her disappointment. "Biden just started something called the 'Office of Gun Violence Prevention' and he put Kamala Harris in charge! Hate to tell y'all but if Kamala handles GUNS like she handled the border, we ALL gonna be in body bags with toe tags on," Spicer wrote on X. President Joe Biden recently launched the first-ever federal office dedicated to uncovering solutions and supporting communities ravaged by shootings. One of the office's goals is to ensure that the bipartisan gun safety law passed last year is fully implemented nationwide along with Biden's executive actions to stop gun violence. According to Biden, the vice president's experience as a former prosecutor makes her perfect for the job. According to data from the Gun Violence Archive, there were 479 mass shootings in 2023 thus far, 12,828 gun deaths, 25,467 gun injuries and 1,098 unintentional shootings in the U.S. as of September 1. (Related: Study proves there is NO CORRELATION between gun control laws and mass shootings.) Harris expressed the administration's commitment to addressing the pervasive issue of gun violence. "Our promise to the American people is this: we will not stop working to end the epidemic of gun violence in every community because we do not have a moment, nor a life, to spare," Harris said. This federal office will operate in coordination with the Biden White House, the Community Justice Action Fund, and Everytown for Gun Safety, aiming to facilitate a unified approach to gun control matters within the federal government.

VP's leadership, or lack thereof, has been exposed before

Harris' leadership on several crucial policy fronts, including gun control, artificial intelligence and the migrant crisis, has been met with challenges and yielded limited tangible results. For instance, during a roundtable discussion in July, her attempt to explain artificial intelligence to a group of labor and civil rights leaders resulted in a convoluted explanation and raised eyebrows. "I think the first part of this issue that should be articulated is AI is kind of a fancy thing. First of all, it’s two letters. It means artificial intelligence, but ultimately what it is, is it's about machine learning," she said, struggling to piece together a sensible explanation. "And so, the machine is taught – and part of the issue here is what information is going into the machine that will then determine – and we can predict then, if we think about what information is going in, what then will be produced in terms of decisions and opinions that may be made through that process." On the issue of the migrant crisis, instead of implementing conservative-recommended policies like former President Donald Trump's "Remain-in-Mexico" policy or border wall construction, Harris pursued investment in Central America. This approach has received criticism from groups like the National Border Patrol Council. Even some left-leaning outlets, such as CNN, have noted that border crossings remain historically high despite the $4.2 billion private sector investment in Central America. Furthermore, Biden entrusted Harris with leading the Democrats' ambitious legislative efforts to safeguard voting rights. However, her role in this endeavor faced significant challenges, with some labeling it a "doomed effort" due to the Senate's 60-vote threshold. Ultimately, Democrats were unable to pass their flagship voting rights bill, H.R. 1, also known as the For the People Act. Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene voiced the conservatives' frustrations and gave Harris unsolicited advice. "Since you failed miserably as the 'Border Czar' then for your gun safety program set a strong example and stop using Secret Service protection," she said. "If the American people don't need guns, then you don't need good guys protecting you with guns like the 'assault weapons' you hate."
