Vivek Ramaswamy campaigns for Donald Trump after dropping out of the presidential race

Former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy expressed his support to Republican frontrunner President Donald Trump in his campaign in New Hampshire, a few days after the former ended his White House bid. While standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the 45th U.S. president, Ramaswamy said: "We are in the middle of a war in this country. That's what this is. It's not a war between black and white. It's not between Democrats and Republicans, even in a deeper sense, it's between the permanent state and the everyday citizen, between those of us who love the United States of America and a fringe minority who hates this country and what we stand for." The multi-millionaire former biotech executive also stated that one has got to know he is in a war to win it. "There is not a better choice left in this race than this man right here. And that is why I am asking you to do the right thing as New Hampshire and to vote for Donald J. Trump as your next president," the 38-year-old further said. "We've been celebrating our diversity and our differences for so long that we forgot all of the ways that we are the same as Americans, bound by that common set of ideals that set this country into motion," Ramaswamy continued. "We believe those ideals still exist. This man is going to be your next president to revive them." Further showing his all-out support, Ramaswamy urged Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race and endorse Trump, as he just did. "I think Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley would actually, at this point, do this country and this party a service by stepping aside to make sure that we’re focused on not only nominating Donald Trump but getting this country back and reviving those founding revolutionary ideals," he told Fox News on Tuesday. "I do think that would be healthy for this country." Ramaswamy dropped his presidential campaign after finishing fourth in the Iowa caucuses with just under eight percent of the vote. Trump scored a landslide win with 51 percent, DeSantis claimed second place at 21 percent, and Haley finished third with 19 percent. The GOP race will now shift to New Hampshire, where the primary is set for Jan. 23. "It is time to make sure we elect the right president and put America first. Take the America First agenda to the next level," Ramaswamy further pointed out. "America First is not even about Trump. It didn’t start in 2016. It started in 1776. Donald Trump will be the right person to take this forward for the next four years. But we need to start laying down the foundation for this to live another 250 years." Meanwhile, DeSantis and Haley continue to campaign in New Hampshire and South Carolina. In February 2023, Mr. Ramaswamy entered the 2024 race with limited name recognition. He spent millions of dollars on his campaign and led over several prominent Republicans, including former Vice President Mike Pence and Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina.

Trump thanks Ramaswamy for the endorsement and says he'll be working with the POTUS for a long time

It was unclear what position Trump is going to give Ramaswamy but judging from how they have been treating each other the past few days, the latter would definitely be working for the Republican POTUS, should he regain the White House seat in November. Ramaswamy again endorsed Trump at the Atkinson rally stating that there is not a "better choice" than him and urged people to do the "right thing." The former president thanked Ramaswamy for his endorsement and said that the Indian American leader will be working with him for a long time. "It's an honor to have his endorsement. He's going to be working with us and he'll be working with us for a long time. Thank you," Trump said. The former president lauded Ramaswamy's campaign and even expressed that he would be amenable to having him as his running mate, stating that "He would be very good." Ramaswamy has been one of Trump's staunchest defenders against the four indictments leveled against him. He even vowed to pardon Trump from all charges, on his first day in office, before his official announcement of suspending his presidential campaign. However, some critics felt awkward about the "burgeoning" relationship between the two, especially since Trump suddenly attacked Ramaswamy a few days before the Iowa caucuses, calling his campaign "deceitful." Trump also urged his supporters not to "waste" their vote on him. However, Ramaswamy still said he won't criticize the former president and reiterated his earlier stance that Trump indeed is the "greatest President" of the 21st century.
