Former President Donald Trump has warned that those who plan to vote illegally in the elections this November
will spend time behind bars.
The real estate mogul took to his Truth Social platform to issue a stern warning for those planning to engage in election fraud come November, vowing that they would face severe consequences. "If you vote illegally, you're going to jail,"
Trump wrote in a brief but direct message on Sept. 20.
"The warning comes as part of Trump's recent focus on ensuring election integrity,"
YourNews remarked. The warning followed an earlier post of Trump three days prior.
The Sept. 17 post warned that anyone caught cheating during the election would be "prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law" if he returns to the White House.
He wrote: "I, together with my attorneys and legal scholars, am watching the sanctity of the 2024 presidential election very closely. Because I know, better than most, the rampant cheating and skullduggery that has taken place [under] the Democrats in the 2020 presidential election.
"It was a disgrace to our nation. Therefore, the 2024 election – where votes have just started being cast – will be under the closest professional scrutiny. When I win [a second term], those people that cheated will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, which will include long-term prison sentences so that this depravity of justice does not happen again.
"We cannot let our country further devolve into a third-world nation, and we won't. Please beware that this legal exposure extends to lawyers, political operatives, donors, illegal voters and corrupt election officials. Those involved in unscrupulous behavior will be sought out, caught and prosecuted at levels … never before seen in the country."
Trump's warning coincides with the start of voting window for elections
The former president's warning to those who plan to commit vote fraud came amid
the opening of the voting window for this year's elections. According to
FOX 40, the voting window's opening for this year is on Sept. 21.
"The first batch of ballots typically sent out are the ones to military and overseas voters. Under federal law, that must happen at least 45 days before an election," the outlet added.
"State and local election officials have warned that problems with the nation's mail delivery system threaten to disenfranchise voters in the upcoming presidential election, telling the head of the U.S. Postal Service that it hasn't fixed persistent deficiencies."
But Trump himself faces potential election interference as the Republican presidential nominee. Originally scheduled to be sentenced for the hush money trial on Sept. 18, Judge Juan Merchan has since moved the date to until after the election. In May, the former president was convicted of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to conceal payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. (Related:

"As the 2024 election begins, Trump's comments have further heightened focus on the issue of voter fraud, a topic that has remained at the forefront of his political agenda since the 2020 election,"
YourNews concluded. "He remains committed to ensuring that … the integrity of the upcoming election is protected, promising strict legal action against any attempts to subvert the process."
