In an emotional and defiant interview on
Fox News' "Outnumbered," Erika Kirk, widow of slain Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder Charlie Kirk, lashed out at conspiracy theorists spreading unfounded claims about her husband's assassination.
She called such rhetoric a "mind virus" and demanded an end to the harassment of her family and organization. The remarks come as prominent right-wing commentator Candace Owens and others have fueled speculation about Charlie's death, questioning the official narrative and even suggesting TPUSA leadership may have been involved.
According to
BrightU.AI's Enoch, Charlie's assassination in September 2025 has been the subject of various conspiracy theories . Some conspiracy theorists argue that the incident was a staged event, orchestrated by Kirk himself or his organization, to gain sympathy, attention or funding.
The decentralized engine adds that other theories suggest the incident being a false flag operation, carried out by unknown parties to advance a political agenda. Some argue that the event was designed to stoke fear and division among conservatives, while others suggest it was an attempt to discredit or silence Kirk and his organization.
"Come after me, but leave my family alone"
Erika, who assumed leadership of TPUSA following her husband's murder, did not hold back in her condemnation of those profiting from baseless theories.
"Come after me. Call me names. I don't care. Call me what you want. Go down that rabbit hole. Whatever," she said. "But when you go after my family, my TPUSA family, my 'Charlie Kirk Show' family – when you go after the people that I love and you're making hundreds and thousands of dollars every single episode going after the people that I love because somehow they're in on this? No."
Her frustration was palpable as she described the toll these theories have taken on TPUSA staff, many of whom witnessed Kirk's murder firsthand during a campus event at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10.
"My poor team is exhausted, and every time they bring this back up, what are we supposed to do, relive that trauma all over again?" she asked. "They watched my husband get murdered. I have no idea how I would have reacted if I was there that day."
Owens' controversial claims
Owens, a former TPUSA communications director, has been at the forefront of pushing alternative narratives about Charlie's death. Among her claims:
- Suggesting Israeli intelligence may have been involved.
- Questioning whether shooter Tyler Robinson acted alone.
- Alleging that TPUSA leadership "betrayed" Kirk.
- Criticizing Erika Kirk's appointment as CEO as a "managerial error."
Owens also cast doubt on Charlie's burial arrangements, falsely asserting he was interred in a Catholic cemetery despite not being Catholic. Erika responded with exasperation, explaining she deliberately kept the location private out of fear of desecration.
"Can my babies have one thing where we hold it sacred? Where my husband is laid to rest? Where I don't have to be worried about some secular revolutionary coming and destroying my husband's grave while my daughter is sitting there praying?"
Erika dismissed the conspiracy theories as not only harmful but irrational, labeling them a "mind virus."
"This is not OK. This is not healthy," she said. "Yes, I believe in our judicial system. I do. We have a hell of a team working on this, excuse my French. But this is not okay."
She emphasized that TPUSA has cooperated fully with law enforcement, including the
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), which has maintained that Tyler Robinson was the gunman. FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the investigation remains ongoing but expressed confidence in Robinson's culpability.
Death threats and harassment, plus a plea for peace
Erika revealed that she and her team have faced escalating threats since her husband's murder. "We have more death threats on our team and on our side than I have ever seen," she said. "I have kidnapping threats. I have, you name it, we have it."
Despite the vitriol, Charlie's widow vowed to press forward in her husband's mission, framing her leadership as both a duty and an honor. She declared: "This is a duty to my husband, and it's an absolute honor, and I will never back down,"
Erika concluded with a direct appeal to those perpetuating the conspiracy theories: "And so my message to them is to stop. To stop."
Her remarks underscore the bitter divisions within conservative circles following Kirk's assassination – a tragedy that has only deepened as speculation overshadows mourning. Meanwhile, TPUSA producer Blake Neff announced plans to publicly rebut Owens' claims in a livestream on Dec. 15. Owens declined to participate, citing prior commitments.
As the investigation continues, Erika's message is clear: Justice for Charlie will be pursued—but not at the expense of her family's peace. "No rock will be unturned," she said. "I want justice for my husband, for myself, for my family more than anyone else out there."
